Dr Nick Askew | Conservation Careers (Chair). Nick loves to build online businesses which help people and the planet.
He’s a Director of Conservation Careers, Ecology Jobs and Terra Incognita, and a former Director of British Birds. He holds a PhD in the behavioural ecology of Barn Owls and will be charing the session.
Francesca Trotman | Love The Oceans. Francesca Trotman is the managing director and founder of Love The Oceans. Holding a Masters in Marine Biology she has always had a passion for marine life and is an emerging leader in the ethical tourism space.
An avid diver since the age of 13 with a keen interest in all aspect of marine life, Francesca is particularly passionate about sharks. Results orientated, she constantly encourages people to consider conservation in everyday life and take a greener approach to modern living. As the founder she likes to stay close to the research and community, overseeing the majority of programs on the ground in Mozambique.
Emily Daniels | WiseOceans. Emily has always had a sense of adventure, this led to her travelling to Australia at the age of 18 where she began her career in marine conservation.
As a PADI instructor she has work in marine operations, and research station management in countries including Indonesia, Philippines, Honduras and Seychelles.
Now based in the South of France, Emily works remotely for WiseOceans overseeing all aspects of the sales, promotion and recruitment for marine conservation organisations through the Wise Work job board and weekly newsletter.
Samantha Craven | Reef-World Foundation. Sam has a Masters in Applied Marine Science and has worked as a field biologist and project manager – leading teams and teaching biology and conservation issues from ridge to reef in Singapore and Malaysia.
Sam started working for Reef-World in 2012, and was selected as a Kinship Conservation Fellow. She now manages the Reef-World Foundation field office – working with their national partners on the implementation of the Green Fins initiative across SE Asia and the Pacific. She leads the development of the teams in the Philippines and Indonesia and provides crucial technical and capacity-building support to Green Fins teams in all active countries.
