British Birds is looking for someone to lead on our communications and marketing. We are anticipating a commitment of up to 20 hours a week to take this work forward over the next year. The successful appointee would be paid between £14,400 – £17,600 per annum depending upon experience and skills.

Role Description
- Develop a communication strategy and implementation plan for BB, in conjunction with the Board of Directors and the Editor.
- Support the Editor by managing communication channels.
- Develop a marketing strategy and implementation plan for BB, in conjunction with the Board of Directors and the Editor.
- Lead on implementation of marketing initiatives.
- Review effectiveness of communications and marketing and report back to Board.
- Actively support the Board and staff team with development of future communications and marketing strategy for BB.
- It is proposed that this will be a self-employed consultant role, working to an agreed contract for 12 months.
Skills and experience
- Proven knowledge and experience of marketing and communications essential.
- Knowledge of British Birds and the British birding scene essential.
- Team player.
- Significant experience of a variety of social media platforms.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work remotely.
