Title: Head of /Director of Campaigns and Media for Wildlife and Countryside Link
Contract: Full-time on a 2-year fixed term contract with potential for extension
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience)
Based: Home working but with days in our Vauxhall (London) office (flexible based on location)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development of Link’s joint sector voice and campaigns to ensure the coalition remains an effective champion for the environment, wildlife and animal welfare
- Strategic development and implementation of campaigns and media work
- Development and delivery of integrated and innovative sector-wide campaigns, including devising our strategic campaigning approach for the next 5 years
- Provide leadership, support, and line management for members of the Link team to ensure a happy, high-performing and resilient staff team
- Represent Link effectively during senior discussions
- Develop internal and external relationships across our membership and with other relevant stakeholders, such as members of the media and Defra’s Communications Team
- Increase the awareness and visibility of a joint voice for the environment to wider and more-diverse audiences
- Ensure appropriate and consistent representation of Link and its members in all communications
Person Specification
Experience and Skills
- Exceptional communication, influencing, management and leadership skills
- Confidence to represent Link externally in senior discussions
- Background working in a busy charity campaigns/media team
- Proven track record of developing, managing and evaluating integrated multi-platform communications and/or campaigns strategies
- Strategic campaigns/communications knowledge
- Experience of strategy conception, delivery, reporting and evaluation
- Established networks in national political/environmental or other relevant media/campaigning networks
- Some experience of design and production
- Experience of environmental policy
- Experience of fundraising
- Risk management skills

- Passionate champion of environmental issues, with a strong knowledge of environmental issues
- Committed to considerate, respectful cooperative working
- Driven to lead by example
- Supportive and motivating manager of other staff

Circumstances
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours on occasion
- Ability to travel occasionally in the UK
- A balance between regular work in central London and home-working (flexible based on location)
