Location: Living Planet Centre, Woking, Surrey
Contract: Permanent, fulltime (35 hours)
Hybrid working: Minimum 40% in person collaboration per month
Salary: £37,581 + excellent benefits

About the role

We’re excited to be recruiting a Philanthropy Manager to help grow and strengthen WWF-UK’s relationships with trusts, foundations and major donors who support our mission through four to six figure gifts.

This role manages a significant national portfolio of trusts and foundations while supporting the cultivation of high value individual donors. You will lead the strategic delivery of our targeted Trust mailing programme, develop compelling donor communications and proposals, and work collaboratively across teams to identify and maximise funding opportunities aligned to organisational priorities.

You’ll play a key role in building long-term philanthropic partnerships, ensuring donors feel informed, valued and connected to the impact of their support, while contributing to income growth and sustainable fundraising practice.

Skills and experience

You’ll bring the skills and experience needed to succeed in this role, including:

Essential

  • Experience managing a portfolio of trusts, foundations, major donors or comparable client relationships, with a strong track record of delivering income targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing and donor communications
  • Experience developing and progressing funding opportunities or new business pipelines
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with high-value supporters
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Financial awareness, including income tracking, budgeting or forecasting
  • Understanding of fundraising regulation, ethical practice and grant compliance

Desirable

  • Experience delivering targeted trust fundraising programmes or structured donor engagement initiatives
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals or major donors
  • Knowledge of the UK philanthropic landscape and fundraising best practice
  • An interest in conservation, environmental issues or WWF-UK’s mission

This is a UK based contract, and you are required to have the Right to Work in the UK. Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer sponsorship and any offer of employment will be subject to evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.

This role is hybrid with a minimum 40% of your contracted hours spent at our beautiful UK head office, the Living Planet Centre in Woking, Surrey, where you’ll hot desk among trees and gardens.
