Nominations are solicited for the Robert K. Johnson Award for excellence in service to the society. The award was initiated in memory of Robert K. (Bob) Johnson, who contributed exemplary service to ASIH. In this context, he served as ASIH Secretary, managing editor of Copeia, four terms as a member of the Board of Governors, and as Chair of the Long-Range Planning and Policy Committee. As that Chair, he developed an exceptionally useful policy and procedures manual, and his diligence in so doing inspired the committee, which then voted to formally codify ASIH activities.

Following societal procedures, the 2022 award, which includes a plaque, will rotate to ichthyology. The award will be presented at the opening plenary session of the ASIH annual meeting.
