£23,000 to £26,000

The Role:

  • Undertake ecological surveys for a variety of protected species and habitats, including bats, reptiles and badgers.
  • Assist with report writing for Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) including completing desk studies and collating and analysing survey data.
  • Professional liaison with clients and colleagues to organise surveys.
  • Undertaking Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) roles.
  • Opportunities to assist with the Environmental Consultancy department including Nutrient Balance Assessments and shadow Habitat Regulations Assessments.
  • 37.5hrs per week
  • Computer and survey equipment will be provided, including all necessary Personal Protective Equipment
  • Temporary contract (6 months- April to October)

Requirements:

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Previous report writing/preparation experience.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience of undertaking protected species surveys (bats in particular).

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of analysing bat sound files.
  • Relevant degree in Ecology or similar.
  • Previous experience within an ecological consultancy.
  • Experience with QGIS/ AutoCAD.
  • CIEEM membership or be eligible for membership.
  • Protected species licences.
