Sweet Water Trust (SWT) supports land conservation projects with the following attributes:
  • Have significant ecological values (including a range of elevations, rare natural communities and rare plant and animal habitat);
  • Connect to significant areas of previously protected land; Is large enough, either alone or in conjunction with other protected lands, to enable wildlife movement and sustain ecological processes;
  • Use SWT funds to leverage other substantial private and public funding; Offer good value because of relatively low per acre cost;
  • Involve partners with a proven track record of responsible land stewardship and monitoring;
  • Ensure that SWT involvement can make a significant difference, e.g. projects where other funding s
