Overview
Volunteers are urgently needed to set up a wildlife rehabilitation centre and a conservation and environmental education program in Namibia.
We are urgently seeking four motivated volunteers to join our wildlife rehabilitation project for two weeks to help us reach a key milestone: approval to receive our first rescued animals. This is a unique chance to be part of the project’s foundation and gain hands-on conservation experience.
Volunteers will take part in practical outdoor work, including building waterholes, planting native vegetation, constructing enclosures, and assisting with land management and surveys across 700+ hectares. Tasks can be tailored to your interests and skill level; no previous experience is needed for this position.
We are seeking individuals who are physically fit, comfortable working outdoors, willing to undertake manual tasks, and have a positive, proactive attitude.
As an early volunteer, you’ll help shape the project, receive updates on its progress, be recognised for your contribution, and have the opportunity to return and see its long-term impact.
Our mission is to rehabilitate and release wildlife back into the wild. Animals are only kept as long as necessary, with release always the priority.
We are also seeking volunteers interested in wildlife rehabilitation and conservation work once our first rescue animals arrive. In addition to supporting site development, such as building enclosures and carrying out surveys, these volunteers will gain hands-on experience working directly with rescued animals.
All volunteers will be encouraged to share feedback and ideas, and will receive regular updates on the project’s progress. Those who contribute to building the project’s foundations will be formally recognised and sincerely appreciated for their efforts.
As part of the experience, volunteers will have the opportunity to spend a week at Etosha National Park. This provides time to unwind, observe native wildlife, and gain insight into how other conservation initiatives operate. It also allows us to gather input from volunteers, understanding what works well elsewhere, what could be improved, and how they would like to see our project evolve in the future.
