The Waldo Tobler GIScience Award is intended to stimulate scientific advancement in the fields of Geoinformatics or Geographic Information Science. The prize is named after the late Emeritus Professor Waldo Tobler of the Department of Geography at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Submission

The Waldo Tobler GIScience Award is given to scientists who have produced outstanding works in the fields of Geoinformatics or Geographic Information Science and have contributed to the sustained advancement of these fields. The qualifications of the nominated persons should include achievements in both research and teaching. Nominations of scientists worldwide are welcome. Self-nominations are not accepted.
