Join this 28-day training course in South African KwaZulu-Natal, broaden your knowledge about the most recent in-field conservation techniques and practices and, at the same time, contribute to important wildlife conservation work amidst South Africa’s awe-inspiring wilderness.
When participating in this wildlife conservation training course, passionate nature lovers and those who consider a career in the conservation sector get the chance to acquire hands-on skills as well as a theoretical understanding of what it takes to work as a field conservationist.
Throughout the course you will be involved in day-to-day tasks and operations as well as monitoring and research projects in world-famous Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park. Each day, your experienced supervisor will familiarize you with monitoring different wildlife species, camera trapping, the art of tracking, the relocation of game and habitat management. Theoretical units back in camp provide you and your international team with additional background knowledge. At the end of your stay you will be equipped with essential conservation know-how as well as unforgettable wilderness memories.
This educational adventure will surely be a life-enhancing learning experience exposing you to the various facets of African wildlife conservation – no matter if you are a curious nature enthusiast or considering a professional career in the conservation sector.
Throughout your time as a course participant, you will live in a research camp in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, where you share a twin room with another course participant and use shared bathroom facilities. Further camp facilities include a communal kitchen and a barbecue area. You will be provided with daily meals which are prepared as a team. In your free time, you can walk over to a near-by tourist camp and enjoy amenities like the swimming pool or the restaurant (at own cost).
