Overview

Take a tailor-made tour in stunning south-west Spain, and choose your focus: birds, mammals, reptiles, insects, plants – or all of the above!

Photo Safari

If you really enjoy photography rather than collecting ticks, this is your tailor-made tour to focus on the species or the landscapes you aim to capture in front of your lens. We can arrange a photo rally for occasional sightings or a species chase for those birds and animals (or even insects and plants!) you are missing from your collection.

Nothing is guaranteed but we ensure a nice day out with nice company. Come and join us!

About Our Partner

Conservation Careers has teamed up with a progressive young company with several years of experience guiding and a vast local knowledge of the region of Andalusia. They love their land and love how wilderness, history and traditions come all together in this corner of Spain.

The fantastic collection of habitats in western Andalusia make this land rich in both wildlife and landscapes. The sea, golden sandy beaches and sand dunes, coastal cliffs, pinewoods, rivers, salt and freshwater marshes and lakes, steppes, countryside, woody hills and rocky mountains are home for large numbers of birds and wild flowers in one of the most bio-diverse areas in Europe.

Our partner has carefully selected the best areas to watch wildlife (birds, mammals, reptiles, insects, flowers, etc.) and the most beautiful landscapes to walk through. The extension of wetlands is particularly remarkable in this part of the country as the estuaries of the rivers Guadalquivir, Guadiana, Odiel and Tinto have become the winter quarters for amazing concentration of migratory wildfowl and waders. Because of all that, the main migration route between Europe and Africa takes place here.

Our partner’s team of guides is formed by young people who are passionate about nature and carry out conservation projects as bird ringers/banders. They also participate actively in many local initiatives and conservation work as volunteers.

Additional sustainability achievements include:

  • Recycling the waste generated in their activities
  • Reducing the use of plastics
  • Reducing the use of vehicles
  • Developing educational work

Route Locations

The south-west of Spain is always ready to create unforgettable memories: the flight of cranes at dawn, the music of a waterfall by a footpath, the mysticism of a Moorish fortress, the gliding of a giant black vulture over your head, the last beam of sunlight of Andalusia, the announcement of the Spring arrival by bee-eaters, or the challenging look of a fighting bull are just a few examples of what Nature, in its many guises, offers us in this corner of the country.

The places to visit depend on your interest exclusively. Just let us know what you are looking for so we will be able to design the programme and the itinerary adapted to your requirements.

Duration, Cost & Availability

Obviously, the best light to catch photographs happens early in the morning and the evening. So that, we extend our tour through 12 hours (10 hours in the winter) to enjoy both moments. In the middle of the day, we can relax by having a meal in a local restaurant or by looking for easier targets en route.

The cost is 290 Euro for a private trip for 1 to 4 photographers.

Available all year round although we recommend to avoid the hottest season.

Logistics

Pickup can be arranged from any accommodation or any meeting point within the province of Huelva. For long distances, a fuel fee might be charged.

We use vehicles according to the group size. Usually a 9-seater minibus for up to 4 photographers although larger groups can be taken on demand.

Multilingual

All our guides speak fluent English and the tour can be done in French, Portuguese or Catalan on demand.

Checklist available in different languages.
