The Conservation Officer (East) is a position within the Land & Biodiversity Team that undertakes on-ground management of conservation reserves across the eastern half of the municipality. On-ground management involves the application of a range of integrated environmental management techniques such as weed control, revegetation and ecological burning with the purpose of protecting and enhancing Hume's conservation estate. Key Skills
  • Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management or lesser formal qualifications with relevant demonstrated experience.
  • Good working knowledge of the flora and fauna of the Victorian Volcanic Plains.
  • Completed Agricultural Chemical Users Course and / or experience in handling herbicides.
