Our happy applicants

If you are struggling to find and get a job in conservation, the secret to your success will be by using Conservation Careers! I did not get the job, but to go from never receiving an interview offer to making it to the last 2 applicants out of 200 on an international scale was incredible! I certainly have not given up! It gave me a real confidence boost that I do have the skills and knowledge to achieve my life long goal of working in conservation! Conservation Careers is probably one of the best things to happen to us job seekers in the conservation industry, we are very lucky to have this service!” – Belinda Laybourne, 2020.

“I have been hired for my first job out of college: studying salamanders for the Salamander Population & Adaptation Research Collaboration Network (https://sparcnet.org/). This was a dream job for me and I am so thankful to the training and advice I’ve received on CC for helping me. I’d also specifically like to thank Kristi who gave me application feedback and interview practice. I was so nervous and stressed out and she provided valuable feedback for me along with being kind and flexible. I highly recommend utilising all the resources you can get from CC! 🙂 ” – Sophia Trent, USA, June 2024.

“I was the successful candidate for the role with UNEP-CITES! I just wanted to say a big thank you again for the prep session I did with you before the interview. It really helped me boost my confidence and give it my all in the interview 🙂 I’ve just finished about a month into the job now and it’s been so busy working on CITES CoP19, but I’m really enjoying it so far.” – Caroline Fitzgerald, Dublin, Ireland, November 2022.

When I saw my dream job come up I knew I couldn’t miss my chance! I decided to get the help and advice from Conservation Careers and, guess what, it paid off: I got the job! They made me see the application process differently, as an opportunity more than an obstacle to overcome. The “dummy” interview was, in my opinion, hard and thought-provoking, with questions I never thought could be asked, but which is exactly what you need to prepare yourself. Finally, what really made a difference was the overall confidence it gave me about the value of my competencies and experiences, and the fact I felt able and willing to share my enthusiasm about them! I would recommend anyone who seeks to evolve or define themselves professionally to use their advice, whether in the context of an application or not!” Lise Goudeseune, Brussels.

“This was such a great experience! I’ve received high quality advice and support! During my application process I felt as if I have my own team supporting me. Following received guidance I have learned much more than I would on my own. Total recommendation.” Karolina Kass, Edinburgh.

“Having a practice interview with Conservation Careers really boosted my confidence. I was eased into the interview, with some friendly chat, and then asked some challenging and very relevant questions. At the end I was given personalised feedback which was very helpful. The process of talking more about the role and my experience made me feel more confident at the real interview. There’s no substitute for real practice when it comes to vocalising answers to difficult questions. Putting the effort into developing good interview technique is well worth it, so that when that golden opportunity comes along, you can give it your absolute best. I’m very happy to say that I got the job!” Chloe Hardman – England.

“Thank you so much again for the thorough research you did on the interview process, and the useful feedback you provided on my mock interview. Again, I am very impressed by the high quality service you provided, and most importantly, I think it is really helping me: by forcing me to practice as well as to consider questions I hadn’t thought of. I already feel more confident about my interview.” Anonymous, International Agency, October 2019.

“If you are struggling to find and get a job in conservation, the secret to your success will be by using Conservation Careers!

Following confirmation of an interview, at very short notice (24 hours), Nick and Kristi worked hard to make sure I was able to book for an interview practice session. I would highly recommend this service! Kristi asked me lots of great questions I would not have considered and helped me view interviews in a unique way. Knowledge which I will use for the rest of my professional career. Kristi was incredibly kind, supportive and a real pleasure to talk with prior to my interview.

“Great news, I got the job!!! Thank you so much for your help, your feedback was really useful and they asked similar questions to those you had prepared for me, so it was great practice for the real thing. I am so excited to get started with my new job and I couldn’t recommend the interview preparation more.” – Caitlin Quilty, UK, February 2021.

“I found out today I was successful in my application for the JNCC and was made an offer of employment. Thank you so much for all the help with the preparation – the application feedback and mock interview were extremely helpful!” – Matt Livesey, March 2021.

I WAS JUST ACCEPTED FOR THE POSITION WITH ASA!!! I can barely believe it. I am actually panicking about how massive a change this would be for everything in my life and future career. Don’t think I thought for a second I had a real chance of getting it. I just really wanted it. This is immense.

I obviously need to take some time and process this and come to terms with it. But it is incredible. I am very grateful for your advice, thank you so much! Would never have got a position so quickly without it! I never thought I could be so lucky as to go from confused ideas about changing careers to having a solid opportunity in the span of less than two months. Your help and the materials on the website were truly invaluable, I cannot rate them highly enough. Thank you.” – Anonymous, November 2021.
