About the project This project is a registered charity which protects a native forest block (approximately 14 hectares / 35 acres) in the Wellington region of New Zealand’s North Island. The reserve is home to a number of endemic New Zealand wildlife including kiwi birds, tuatara (an endemic reptile), parrots, and waterfowl. The reserve is also an advocate for conservation and environmental protection through public education and by offering educational visits by schools and other groups.
