Mississippi Valley Conservancy (The Conservancy) a local non-profit land trust, is accepting applications for
the position of Conservation Intern to assist The Conservancy in conserving the diverse landscapes of southwest
Wisconsin. The position is part-time, paid ($10/hr), flexible timeframe (20-30 hrs/week) and is based in La
Crosse, WI.
Description of Duties
Land Management and Restoration – Intern will maintain and restore prairie, savannah, forest, and wetland
habitat on nature preserves throughout southwest Wisconsin. Duties may include equipment maintenance,
firebreak construction, trail maintenance, invasive species control, use of herbicides, tree and brush removal,
prairie restoration, boundary posting, supervising school and volunteer groups, and coordinating work days
