POSITION SUMMARY The Marine Technician’s primary focus will be on surveying other states on their shellfish management practices. The tech will work closely with TNC’s Marine Program and DNR’s Shellfish staff to update contact information, create a survey format, conduct calls and in person meetings, provide updates and collate data. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Most responsibility for the Marine Technician will be working with the Marine Program Manager to conduct a multi-state survey of shellfish management techniques. S/he must become familiar with South Carolina’s shellfish management program, including interviews with DNR staff.
