Description: One-year appointment. Over the course of one year, apprentice duties may include, but are not limited to: open lands and forest vegetation inventories and monitoring; open lands management contract compliance inspections; threatened and endangered wildlife and plant species surveys; monitoring captive elk and bison herds; habitat management; herbicide applications to control invasive plant species; wildlife/nuisance animal trapping and handling; collecting biological data at deer and turkey check stations; Global Position Systems (GPS) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) data collection, storage and use; inspection and survey data documentation and reports; National Environmental Policy Act analysis; project team leader responsibilities;
