“Population-Health-Environment” (PHE) is a holistic approach to sustainable development, integrating health education and services with natural resource management and biodiversity conservation. Blue Ventures has been implementingaward-winning PHE programmes in Madagascar since 2007, encompassing community-based reproductive health services and marine management. Blue Ventures helped to establish the Madagascar PHE Network in 2014 with the aim of facilitating the development of new cross-sector partnerships between health and conservation NGOs, and building their capacity to implement PHE programmes. This has led to increasing demand for technical PHE assistance from Blue Ventures’ partner NGOs throughout Madagascar, with further interest from partners in the western Indian Ocean
