This position is responsible for the preparation of maps for native title claims, land claims, mining, resource management, environmental and land needs issues required under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 and Native Title Act 1993; and other mapping requirements of the NLC, including the future planning of the GIS and mapping needs and training of other staff. Applicant should possess experience in the use of GIS software, including capture, manipulation and analysis of spatial data, and the implementation and development of GIS. Knowledge of mapping techniques and technology, including GIS and GPS and the ability to use GIS software to create maps of a high standard and to effectively manage data is essential. You will have a Bachelor of Science Degree
