Posting Summary The Lake Champlain Forest Watershed Partnership formed in 2018 to accelerate the implementation of forest restoration to meet the Lake Champlain Basin’s water quality, wildlife habitat, economic, and quality of life goals. Founding partners include PUR Projet, American Forests, UVM Extension and Lake Champlain Sea Grant. The Partnership’s initial focus includes: 1) broadening understanding of benefits of riparian forest buffers; 2) promoting restoration of riparian forest buffers in priority subwatersheds and sustainable forest management in headwater watersheds so as to improve components of the forestry supply chain critical to keeping forest as forest; 3) working with partners and stakeholders to identify and address critical questions surrounding forested buffers
