Primary Purpose of the Position: The associate editor contributes to all facets of the production of National Parks magazine, an award-winning quarterly publication about public lands that covers topics ranging from science and history to conservation, wildlife, travel, politics, arts and culture. This person works closely with the small, close-knit magazine team on tasks including story planning, reporting, writing, editing, copy editing, fact-checking, photo research, photo editing, and communication with readers, writers, artists, photographers and photo agencies.
