This position gives an opportunity to experience the height of each respective species’ survey season. Spotted owl surveys include searching known owl nesting sites to determine occupancy, nesting, and reproductive success. There will be some day work during the month of April focused on activity center searches, and primarily night work will occur in late April, May and June conducting callback surveys. As the season progresses toward summer, experience the peak of marbled murrelet season when the birds are most active, and the survey effort is most critical.
