After a decade of work, Rewilding Europe is now stepping up its operations. We have developed an exciting new strategy and set ambitious goals for 2030. We now need to strengthen our Central Team and are looking to fill several vacancies, including the one listed below.

European Young Rewilders Coordinator (24-32 hours)

An independent charitable foundation registered in the Netherlands, Rewilding Europe is a pan-European initiative operating at the frontline of European rewilding. We want to make Europe a wilder place, for the benefit of both nature and people.

A decade of committed work means Rewilding Europe is now well established, with a team of people based in 18 different European countries. Working with dedicated partner organisations, our focus is the rewilding of large landscapes and the scaling up of rewilding across Europe.

Today, the rewilding movement has never been stronger.  As we support the growth of this movement, Rewilding Europe will continue to act as a pioneer and frontrunner. Our lean and agile Central Team currently comprises seven lead positions, heading up a multinational team of 24 people. Role

The European Young Rewilders Coordinator develops, coordinates and expands the European Young Rewilders Network (EYR), in line with Rewilding Europe’s Upscaling operational plan. The European Young Rewilders Coordinator reports to the Head of Upscaling and works closely with Rewilding Europe’s teams and external (and voluntary) EYR core group.

Main responsibilities

The European Young Rewilders Coordinator:

  • Develops the EYR strategic plan and ensures implementation in close collaboration with the Head of Upscaling;
  • Coordinates the EYR network and develops and implements a membership model for this network;
  • Is first point of contact for EYR’s core team and assists and guides them in their operational tasks (e.g. team meetings, events, website, social media, etc.);
  • Positions and represents the EYR network;
  • Connects with (potential) external partners and other relevant (youth) networks;
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders on the preparation of EYR network proposition and activities;
  • Analyses, documents and processes lessons learned and uses this to further develop EYR;
  • Facilitates the exchange of knowledge and insights within the EYR network;
  • Supports fundraising initiatives and opportunities for the further development of the EYR.

 Short Summary

Early career rewilder or rewilding enthusiast. Able to mobilise younger generations to engage with rewilding. Can think strategically. Excellent coordination and organisation skills, e.g. seminars, events and other gatherings. Connector and motivator, likes network building. Great social skills and good communicator, fluent in social media, quick learner. Good writing skills, proficient in English language.

Key qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline;
  • 2-5 years’ relevant experience in coordinating (international) networks and working with youth groups;
  • Experience with developing a strategic plan, planning and leading activities;
  • Excellent organizational and project development skills;
  • Strong social skills and networking, and social media skills;
  • Proficient in English, verbally and in writing, additional European languages are a plus.
  • Passionate about Rewilding Europe’s mission, vision and objectives.

  • Rewilding Europe is a professional and dynamic organisation with a friendly working culture. We offer competitive salaries, commensurate with background, expertise, level of experience, and country of residence.
  • The ideal candidate will ideally be located in the Netherlands, in or close to Rewilding Europe’s home office in Nijmegen.
  • This position is graded in salary scale 7
