White Stork Project Officer
Full-time permanent role
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Start Date: March/April 2023
Hours: 40 per week, based at the Knepp Estate and home working
This is a wonderful opportunity for an ambitious and passionate person to project-manage one of the most exciting reintroduction projects in the UK. The White Stork Project (www.whitestorkproject.org) aims to establish at least 50 breeding pairs of white storks in southern England by 2030 through a five-year phased release programme. You will be working with project partners Cotswold Wildlife Park, the Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation and Knepp Estate, and working with an established group of volunteers to ensure the ongoing success of the project.
If you love working in the outdoors, engaging with a wide range of audiences, and are passionate about rewilding and species restoration, then this position would be perfect for you.
The successful candidate will become a specialist in this charismatic and enchanting species, with hands-on experience of managing the captive birds and breeding programme, and the prospect of growing the role and running their own team.
