What you’ll be doing

This role will see you working with primary and secondary schools, colleges, and universities to deliver curriculum-linked activities that will increase students understanding of nature and the environment.

As our Senior Tutor, you will also provide effective leadership, support, and guidance to our other team members.

Your day to day will include developing, planning, and delivering courses in outdoor teaching sites to students on science and geography school trips. This will involve leading groups of all abilities in the local environment, ensuring you always have the health and safety of the group in mind.

When you are not working in the field, you will also be happy to contribute to other aspects of working in a busy education centre. This is a very active role, some weeks will be long and tiring, but our tutors find this work very rewarding, and we promise you will too!

Who we’re looking for

You’ll have a degree or equivalent in an appropriate academic discipline, at least 2 years relevant work experience, and experience of writing and undertaking risk assessments. In addition to:

Where you’ll be based

This role is predominately based at Bushy Park which has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). We work in partnership with The Royal Parks to deliver environmental education in Bushy Park.

The Stockyard Education Centre (TW12 2EJ) is on Hampton Court Road. It is within the Park’s office complex and is a working stockyard. The centre has two classrooms which can accommodate up to 60 learners and has access to the Nature Trail, part of Bushy Park, not normally accessible to the public.

Please note that this role is part of the wider Epping Forest and London Education team and therefore you may on rare occasions be required to deliver courses at the Epping Forest Field Studies Centre or one of our Field Sites in London.
