About Wild Futures

Wild Futures is a charity that currently manages our Monkey Sanctuary which houses and cares for many species of primate.  The majority of the residents are victims of the exotic pet trade in the UK.

The Role

As Primate Care Coordinator you would be responsible for coordinating the daily monkey care at the Sanctuary including coordination of the primate care team to ensure best practice and high welfare standards for the primates in our care.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a committed individual with extensive experience of working with primates in an animal sanctuary, rescue centre or similar environment.  You will respect and deliver the vision, mission and values of Wild Futures.  You will work and coordinate positively and closely with the team to deliver all aspects of the daily care for the primates, including diet preparation, feeding, cleaning and giving medication, dealing with various health conditions and be able to work around the animals in a respectful and calm manner.

Background & Qualifications:

• You must be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of working with primates.
• Have strong communications skills.
• Be able to demonstrate an ability to multi-task and prioritise.
• Be physically fit and be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions.
• Have a full clean driving licence.
• Permission to work in the United Kingdom

Desirable but not essential:

• Experience working with capuchins and callitrichids.
• Veterinary care knowledge.
• Experience in coordinating a team and planning work.
• Degree in zoology or related field.
• Experience in firearms and/or darting.
