The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service - New Mexico Ecological Services Field Office (NMESFO), located in Albuquerque, NM, is primarily responsible for conservation management activities including endangered and threatened species conservation, habitat conservation planning, energy development, permits and licenses through the Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act compliance, pesticide use, water quality, hazardous waste and oil spill cleanup, Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration, wetland and riparian habitat assessments, and Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program. Employees work within the states of Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico (as well as other surrounding States). The NMESFO is responsible for administering and implementing the San Juan River
