Position Summary The Audubon South Carolina Shorebird Steward Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with Audubon’s robust volunteer program that covers the entire SC coastline. Main duties will be coordinating volunteers, monitoring coastal bird sites, and interacting with the boating and beachgoing public to prevent disturbance to resting and nesting coastal birds.   Coastal birds have faced massive declines in the past few decades, but when focused and coordinated conservation efforts take place, we see the results. Nesting and migratory birds face great challenges in dense human communities, from lack of food and safe beaches to deadly hazards and pollution.
