The primary responsibilities of this position will include conducting surveys (by foot and UTV) for priority shorebird species at several sites along the Alabama coast, data entry, and report writing. The coastal bird steward will record data on snowy plovers, piping plovers, red knots, American oystercatchers, and reddish egrets, among other species, including GPS coordinates, behavior, microhabitat, and band combinations (if any). They may also conduct Audubon Coastal Bird Surveys and enter data into eBird.
