Are you a natural connector of people who is passionate about wildlife conservation? Would you love to help motivate conservationists as they build their careers?

Then we want YOU as one of our Community Connectors (Volunteer) to help motivate conservationists in their careers and engage them in our online community, CC Pro.

This is a volunteer (unpaid) role, based anywhere with an internet connection. You’ll need at least 3-4 hours per week for 6 months, and in return you’ll receive career support and training.

About the role

To achieve goals, people need motivation, a plan and a guide. Your primary goal is to motivate people in their careers, ensuring they enjoy CC Pro and engage in the community.

As a face of our community, you will represent our mission, vision and values and model our Community Guidelines in all your interactions.

Title: Community Connector (Volunteer)

Start date: 26 August 2024

Term: 6 months (until 28 February 2025) with the possibility of renewal.

Location: Anywhere in the world! So long as you have a reliable internet connection.

Contract: voluntary (with full access to CC courses upon completion of six months).

Hours: 3-4 hours per week. This can be done flexibly, so long as daily and weekly tasks are completed and you’re available to check in regularly for team communication. You can work more if you wish.

Vacation: To be agreed in advance and covered via work sharing with your teammate.

Trial period: 1 month

Notice period: 1 month

Responsibilities

The following key responsibilities will be shared as a two-person team:

  • Say Hello. Welcome new members and create connections with others.
  • Win of the week. Create a weekly post encouraging community members to share their wins (big and small) and challenges of the week.
  • Wellness Wednesdays. Collate ideas and create a weekly post sharing practices that can support mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.
  • Optional | Support activities that make valuable connections between CC Pro members. This may be through mastermind groups, monthly challenges, mentoring, etc.

About you

We’re seeking people who are passionate about helping conservationists enjoy fulfilling, impactful careers and who enjoy motivating, connecting and engaging others.

Essential:

  • A passion and talent for motivating, engaging and connecting people.
  • A high level of teamwork, reliability and positivity.
  • A commitment to our mission, vision and values (Open, Agile, Collaborative, Optimistic).
  • Excellent attention to detail and a healthy dose of creativity.
  • An understanding of the power of community for supporting conservationists.
  • A commitment to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive space for ALL members.
  • English fluency (writing, reading, speaking and listening). Applicants from any country are encouraged to apply, but you must have English fluency equivalent to native level to be considered. 

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Conservation Careers, our resources and/or the CC Pro community.
  • Experience successfully engaging online communities.
  • An understanding of the impact communities can create for a business.
  • Experience using Circle (our community platform).
