Directs policy recommendations and legal defense strategies to protect manatees and their habitat for Save the Manatee Club (SMC), a nonprofit organization based in Maitland, Florida. Will identify manatee protection measures, lead citizen advocacy efforts, partner with other organizations/agencies, represent SMC at meetings and working groups, and work to ensure strong manatee and habitat protection at the local, state, and federal levels. Will prioritize issues for SMC, draft comments on various conservation and management plans, and advise on SMC’s research participation.
