Responsibilities

 
  • Serves as a technical advisor for fire ecology and monitoring for the Branch of Wildland Fire and Aviation at Yosemite National Park. In cooperation with appropriate staff, researchers, and partners, the fire ecologist assists in the development and implementation of scientific monitoring protocols to identify, evaluate, and monitor ecosystem response to fire management activities and the ecological process of wildland fire.
  • Works with the supervisor or a higher graded specialist to manage all aspects of monitoring design, data collection and management, analysis, and reporting related to fire ecology and monitoring. Assists the supervisor or a higher graded specialist in writing fire monitoring documents which
