Overview

Whitcher Wildlife Ltd are looking for a number of ecologists at various stages of their career to join our small but growing business. Having been operating for over 25 years, currently with twelve staff, we are looking to increase our workforce to meet the ever growing demand for ecological services.

If you are tired of working for large companies, with billable hours and micro-managers, then Whitcher Wildlife could be a great fit for you. We offer a laid-back style approach to ecology, where you are trusted to manage your own workload, whilst still being supported as much as you require.

We offer the opportunity to join a growing business with great opportunities for progression, whether that be in your job title, or for BNG, species licences, botany, or much more. We also offer an unlimited training budget. In fact, we encourage you to do as much as possible!

We are based in Barnsley, located centrally within the country within a brand new office, and would love if you could either be based in the office, or at least call in every so often, but remote working is also fine. We currently have staff based in both Barnsley and south Wales, and we work nationwide, so provided you are based within England or Wales, we could make it work.

Our work is predominantly rail based (not HS2, not now or ever!), but we also cover all other sectors and do a lot of residential work, quarries, historic structures and more.

We also offer company laptops, phones, vans along with strong salaries dependent on your experience, along with a company pension, private medical insurance, gym memberships, annual and performance bonuses and more.

We are looking for people of all experience levels, but we would prefer if you at least have some experience of working with the ecological sector. A strong educational background is essential, with good literacy skills and a full driving licence. But most importantly, an attitude to succeed and progress within the ecological sector, and a desire to want to get the most out of the role.

The opportunity is here, come and take it.
