Education Team Leader
FSC Margam Discovery Centre, Neath Port Talbot
Up to £30,012 per annum plus benefits
37.5 hours per week / Permanent / Annualised

We now have an opportunity for an Education and Learning Team Leader to join us to develop, plan and deliver “out-of-classroom learning” activities to a wide-ranging audience of formal and informal educational groups

Managing the education team, you will lead groups of all abilities in the natural environment to achieve our goal of “inspiring environmental understanding through first-hand experience”. You will ensure that where appropriate programmes have relevance to the National Curriculum for England and Wales therefore you will comply with all relevant legislation.

With a degree or equivalent in a Science subject, Geography, Maths or Environmental Science, or closely allied discipline, the successful candidate will have experience of teaching curriculum focused outdoor education/ fieldwork at a variety of levels preferably to A level.

You will have strong management skills and have previous experience of developing, training and leading a team. Experience of producing and delivering teaching materials that meet the current curricular requirements is essential and you will have experience of writing and undertaking risk assessments. A Teaching Qualification would be preferable.

This is a hands-on position and will be expected to teach between 60-80% of the time Additionally, you will be required to manage the Centre on occasion therefore you will need to be a team player, have an excellent work ethic and strong communication and organisational skills.
