This job is for you if: - You enjoy doing strenuous manual labor on rugged, steep terrain - Are interested in a career in fire, ecology, and/or rangeland management - Have little to no experience with plant identification and monitoring, but are willing to learn - Are willing to work a flexible schedule that includes both camping near worksites for several days, and day trips to/from the BLM office in Elko
The Elko District has hundreds of riparian, aspen, and special status plant exclosures scattered throughout its boundaries, most of which require BLM maintenance. Due to a reduced workforce, many of these exclosures have been neglected and are in disrepair. Impact by cattle
