As an FLS Planner you’ll prepare plans to help us look after the national forests and land – some 9% of Scotland – to benefit Scotland’s environment, people and economy. A Planner’s main role is to prepare Land Management Plans. These set out how we will care for the land that we manage (which isn’t all forest, by the way – it’s also peatlands, sand dunes, farms, windfarms and green space around towns) over the next decade and beyond.
