The Mitigation Specialist assists with Arkansas River Watershed Collaborative wildfire risk reduction/mitigation/fire & flood recovery programs within the Arkansas River Basin. The Mitigation Specialist will work primarily in the Upper Arkansas Basin with a focus on Lake County, and as needed in other parts of our work area. Some overnight travel will be required. The position works under the direction of the Arkansas River Watershed Collaborative’s Director of Forestry. The Mitigation Specialist will work with agency and community partners to complete fuels mitigation projects, coordinate on-the-ground program and project implementation, and provide mentoring and training; this is an excellent opportunity to gain project management experience.
