THE SITKA FOUNDATION The Sitka Foundation (Foundation) is a mission-driven private family foundation that was established in 2007 to catalyze the protection of the environment and promotion of biodiversity in BC with a particular focus on Howe Sound and the Salish Sea. This is achieved through activation of its capital in philanthropy and investments. The Foundation’s capital is invested in several mission-aligned strategies as well as traditional investments. The Foundation is committed to collaborative funding, community-based opportunities, mission-aligned activation of its investment portfolio, deep listening, and flexible grantmaking. Underpinning this is an organizational culture that is collaborative, encouraging of learning, and imbued with a deep love of nature. GRANTS
