THIS IS A LOCALLY RECRUITED POSITION OPEN TO MOZAMBIQUE NATIONALS ONLY. The illegal exploitation and trade of forest resources are caused and driven by failures in the forest governance. The illegal logging results in significant revenue losses for the governments, companies and communities. Illegal logging destroys forests, damages the environment, disrupts communities and cost government an estimated $ 15 billion USD in lost revenues annually. Based on this statements and considering the IUCN work on Forest Law Enforcement through the word, IUCN Mozambique accepted the WWF Mozambique Office invitation to contribute to the project on “Forest and Governance in Mozambique: the Urgency of the Moment”.
