Maintenance Officer

FSC Castle Head, Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria

Up to £10.70 per hour plus benefits

37.5 hours per week / Permanent / Monday-Friday

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Field Studies Council (FSC), one of the UK’s leading providers of outdoor environmental education. FSC is a pioneering environmental education charity committed to enabling people discover, explore, understand, and be inspired by the world around us. Established in 1943, our network of Learning Locations provide day and residential courses for all ages, from young children to retired adults, from schools and communities throughout the UK, reaching many others through our publications and community-based programmes.

We are looking for a Maintenance Officer with experience in general interior and exterior maintenance work, with the ability to deliver quality craftmanship as well as experience of the safe use & care of relevant machinery and equipment for indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks.

The successful applicant will need to hold a driving licence as they will be required to drive FSC vehicles. Experience of grounds maintenance & health and safety monitoring & record keeping is desirable. Good practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work using own initiative are a must. The successful candidate will be working on-site at one of our beautiful locations, FSC Castle Head, as part of a small, welcoming, and committed team.
