In June 2022 Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Wildlife Trusts announced securement of funding to deliver a pioneering Seascape programme across the Humber Estuary for the next 5 years, trialling the combined restoration of dune, saltmarsh, seagrass and oyster habitats in collaboration with Ørsted. Creating a new technical Humber Restoration team hosted across both Trusts, specialist officers are now being recruited with a lead assigned for each habitat. The Native Oyster Restoration Officer will be responsible for managing our existing conservation oyster farm at Spurn Point and reintroducing 500,000 native oysters to the Humber Estuary.
