Position purpose: The Regional Cat Management Coordinator is responsible for fulfilling services as outlined in the funding agreement between Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment and NRM North. The coordinator will assist local government in the northern region of Tasmania to improve the levels of responsible cat ownership across the region through the implementation of the Tasmanian Cat Management Plan, including: 1. improving levels of responsible cat ownership through education and awareness; 2. increasing levels of understanding of the impacts that domestic, stray, and feral cats can have; 3. ensuring that cat owners and breeders of cats are aware of their legal responsibilities and there are high levels of compliance with the Cat Management Act.
