Natural Environment Investment Readiness Fund:

Site Pipeline Development – Project Officer

£25-£30k per annum

Permanent contract

Home working / close proximity to Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire essential

We are looking for an enthusiastic Project Officer to develop a pipeline of habitat creation, management and monitoring projects for ponds, fens, headwater streams and floodplains in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Funded by the Natural Environment Investment Readiness Fund, the project explores the integration of district licensing for great crested newts with the delivery of wider biodiversity net gain for freshwater habitats. The project specifically focuses on small waters which an increasing range of evidence worldwide indicates are critical for freshwater biodiversity. Landowner and stakeholder engagement is key as well as experience of aquatic and terrestrial habitat creation and restoration within freshwater ecosystems.

This is an exciting role with varied activities, working as part of a team taking a novel approach to conservation of great crested newts and freshwater habitats and delivery of 25 Year Environment Plan goals.
