The post is for a seven month summer Assistant Warden contract on the Ouse Washes reserve in Cambridgeshire. The Ouse Washes is the largest lowland wet grassland site in the UK, comprising of 1200ha. The post will involve delivering land management, monitoring and maintaining the reserve infrastructure. You will work under the direction of the warden to deliver habitat management on the main reserve, duties will include water control of ditches, topping grass after grazing, chain sawing scrub and leading and working with volunteers. Good breeding bird identification skills are essential, as you will be part of a four-person team carrying out surveys.
