The Western Environmental Law Center (WELC) is a high-impact, nonprofit public interest environmental law firm with a 27-year legacy using the power of the law to safeguard the public lands, wildlife, and communities of the American West in the face of a changing climate. We seek an attorney to join our team in New Mexico. This position will advance an expansive package of legal strategies to facilitate a just, equitable, and managed transition away from oil and gas to address the climate crisis and foster ecological and community resilience. While centered on securing state-level reforms in New Mexico, this position will also contribute to WELC’s ambitious federal-level strategies, in particular relative to federal public lands.
