The Stewardship Intern works with Conservancy staff to provide stewardship support for the Conservancy’s preserves and conservation restrictions located in Western Massachusetts. Primary responsibilities will be split between radio-telemetry for two rare turtle species and assisting with general preserve stewardship management activities. Turtle monitoring project will by supervised by the Stewardship Manager and will include using  radio-telemetry to track locations of 20 turtles per week in wetlands, record locations via GPS , take detailed notes, and work with data in large Excel database. Preserve stewardship tasks will be supervised by the Land Steward and will include preserve and conservation easement monitoring; natural resource mapping using Global Positioning Satellite
