Wildlife Refuge Technician intern duties include: Assisting the refuge manager with planning and carrying out refuge public use events including school tours, interpretive programs, and events. Staffing the Refuge Visitor Center on weekends. Monitoring refuge hydrology using field equipment such as an AquaCalc. Completing ArcGIS work for the Refuge by creating new shapefiles and maps in the office and the field. Assisting with wildlife surveys and other wildlife management related activities. Representing the Refuge at various community meetings. Assisting with developing Refuge Management Plans such as hunting plans, visitor service plans, and habitat management plans.
