The Great Basin Institute (GBI), in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU), is recruiting 1 crew leader and 3 crew members to serve as part of the Tahoe Basin Restoration Crew. The job is physically arduous with work being done outdoors every day to implement a variety of Forest restoration projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Installation of temporary erosion control measures (such as erosion control fence, willow wattles, etc.),
  • Revegetation of restored channel, meadow and upland forest surfaces (including planting of rooted stock, hydro seeding, hand seeding and mulching, installation of sod plugs)
  • Construction of small in-channel stabilization structures such as check dams and wood debris structure
