The North Carolina Zoo is seeking two enthusiastic team members to be part of its Aviary, Avian Propagations/Holdings work unit. Animals cared for include a variety of avian species housed in either the Forest Aviary habitat or in one of the three off-habitat avian propagation/holding buildings. The avian collection consists of approximately 150 individuals representing approximately 45 species and a small collection of Forsten’s Tortoise. Responsibilities and daily duties include:
  • Daily assessment, observation and care of habitat and off-habitat animals, while following all work unit SOP’s.
  • Daily diet preparation and assessment of consumption.
  • Daily physical plant maintenance of habitat and off-habitat buildings, to include exten
