Hard-working Zoology and Animal Behaviour graduate who has an aptitude for research, seeks a future studying how animal behaviour can be used to conserve species.

• Completed a research apprenticeship entitled ‘Social networks and activity of the greater flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus)’, supervised by Paul Rose. This improved my knowledge on how to conduct research, collect data and write up a research project. I have also learned new techniques such as social network analyses and developed my oral presentation skills.

• Produced reports and wrote up a dissertation entitled ‘How does nestling diet affect tawny owl (Strix aluco) breeding success?’ (2:1) supervised by Dr Aileen Mill, enhancing my laboratory and written communication skills.
• Key modules include ecology, conservation, mechanisms of behaviour, animal behaviour, evolution and behaviour and animal physiology.
• Specialist knowledge in areas such as ethology, animal biology (particularly physiology, molecular biology and genetics), conservation and ecology.

Research Experience
Mar – June 2017 Volunteer Research Assistant, Lilongwe Wildlife Trust, Malawi
• Gained field experience with an expert team in wildlife rehabilitation and release.
• Involved in capturing and collaring vervet monkeys and using radio telemetry and GPS.
• Required to identify individual members of primate troops.
• Behavioural observations including scan sampling, focal sampling and continuous sampling.
July, Aug 2016 NGO Wildlife Conservation Internship, Costa Rica
• Gained experience in survey methods for birds, primates, amphibians and reptiles.
• Learned about the need for research to help conservation strategies.
• Experienced the value of teamwork in a basic living situation.
• Helped collect essential data for monitoring biodiversity in a species rich country.
2014 – 2015 Dairy cattle internship, University of Exeter
• Worked with a PhD student for 50 hours to help carry out research on social interactions in dairy cattle, to improve welfare standards.
• Checked equipment worked and visited dairy cattle farms to deploy radio collars onto cattle.
• Collected and downloaded data to help with analyses.

Interests
I am a member of various conservation charities, keeping up to date with the latest developments in these issues. I love to travel and have recently returned from spending four months in South East Asia. In my spare time I enjoy cooking and baking. I also like to keep fit by regularly running.
